LIVE with Michael Pearman and Dennis DeVolder

Michael Pearman and Dennis DeVolder met several years ago at an open mic night. With each appreciating the other’s solo talents, it was natural for them to begin playing music together. They play easy listening music that appeals to all ages.

Mike’s musical journey began in a sleepy little town in Missouri, singing in the school choir and with local bands. His music is honest, no frills memories with influences of rock, pop, folk, Americana, and country. A triple threat on guitar, bass, and keyboards, Mike focuses on solo acoustic music. As a songwriter, one of his compositions was selected for inclusion on an album produced by WXLP – 97X in the Quad Cities.

Dennis DeVolder grew up in west-central Illinois. His early influences include Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, and Carlos Santana. He has played both traditional blues and blues-based rock for many years, and played in long-forgotten regional rock and metal bands. His primary interest for many years is the American Primitive genre of fingerstyle guitar, particularly the works of John Fahey, Leo Kottke, and Peter Lang. His original material is full of dark humor and frustration, and generally requires a Parental Advisory label.

LIVE with Addison Johnson

LIVE with Addison Johnson

Neo-Traditional Country Music with Americana and Bluegrass influences is the focus of Greensboro, NC, native Addison Johnson, as he joins the effort of those determined to revive the sounds, feelings and content associated with the industry’s pioneers. His music is inspired by the work of legends like George Jones, Lefty Frizzell, and Waylon Jennings. He also draws inspiration from the more modern version of that traditional sound from artists like Alan Jackson, Mark Chesnutt, and Randy Rogers.

Addison is an experienced performer, and brilliant songwriter. He has an impeccable ability to develop a hook when writing a song, while focusing on the story-telling emphasis of the genre’s past. He builds a connection with an audience by using his ability to set up a song with a back-story that makes each person feel as though he’s speaking to them one-on-one. His gift is to then deliver a song in a way that appears to flow effortlessly from his soul and solidify that connection with the audience.

With strong lyrical content that will draw you into the story he’s telling, Addison’s songs take you on a journey to a time when country music was reflective of the working class American. Addison’s approach to songwriting brings those stories to life once again.

LIVE with Sarah and Brandon (of Sarah & The Underground)

Sarah & The Underground are an up-and-coming, independent trio that call the beautiful city of Peoria, Illinois their headquarters. You may catch them in the back of a dive bar, in a 2,000 seat theater or at home on your television screen. This youthful trio specializes in what they've come to refer to as "SoulFolk with a twist of Jazz!" Songwriter Sarah Marie Dillard offers original compositions inspired by all things Illinois, touching on topics including the Peoria music industry and the coal mines and farmland of Hanna City. Upright bassist Brandon Mooberry and drummer/percussionist Nick Fairley join Sarah in skillfully referencing Peoria's Jazz and Folk roots with frequent nods to Peoria's thriving jam scene.  The sound that’s attracted thousands of listeners all over the Midwest is best described as a big sip of warm, dark whiskey for the ears, so it's no wonder they've taken root here in The Whiskey City. Sarah & The Underground definitely plays in Peoria!

The Syrian Refugee Crisis: Stories of Hope and Survival

Eight years ago 22 million people lived in Syria. Today 11 million people have left. They really didn’t have a choice. Their homes were taken and there were no jobs, food, or water. The people have migrated everywhere. Many live in UN camps in Lebanon or with family in other countries. The conditions are unbelievable. Yet, there is still hope.

Rev. Dr. Mark Mueller of The Outreach Foundation will share information and stories and lead a time of Q&A.
