This internship will provide new brewers from traditional and/or nontraditional backgrounds with an opportunity to gain entry into the brewing industry, and substantive training in brewing skills and experience to launch their brewing careers. Knox County Brewing Company operates as a small social enterprise production brewery with keg packaging, barrel aging, micro bottling, gastro-pub style food, and a retail store. The focus of the internship is on production. Interns will assist and learn how to put theoretical understanding to life as a brewer, in our strange and beautiful brewery.
Knox County Brewing Company Brewer Internship program is open to people who are nearing completion of, or have recently completed a brewing education program or related degree or certificate program. The internship is designed for anyone, but most specifically for, people from diverse backgrounds presently underrepresented in the brewing industry (examples include women, racial/ethnic/religious minorities, first generation Americans, etc.) who seek a career in brewing. Interns must be authorized to work in the United States.
Interns will be selected on the basis of their past work and educational experience, the quality of their educational program and how well they performed in that program, their knowledge of beer and brewing, their aptitude for a career in brewing, and their passion for brewing.
